Getting ready to travel? Well you’re about to discover how unbelievably challenging it is to create multiple outfits, out of few pieces, to suit a variety of climates!
There is one simple rule… Stick to the basics! Basics can be mix and matched, dressed up or down and can be easily layered. And just because you’re working with basics doesn’t mean you’ll create a basic outfit! I’m also a strong believer in sticking with a neutral colour palate – white, black and grey (or taupe/camel). These pants were the exception!
Although it’s Spring here in the US, it’s Autumn back home in Australia and this burnt orange colour will be perfect for the cooler weather to0. Flowing fabrics are a must for travelling. The last thing you want to be is uncomfortable in tight clothing. I bought these in Miami from H&M which was perfect for the humidity. I wanted something that was loose and cooler to wear in the sticky heat apart from shorts and a singlet! These pants were the perfect balance, with a high waist and a baggy leg (great for those of us with shorter legs!). I wore them out the very next day, teamed with a basic white tee, a long necklace, a bold hat and flat leather sandals for the ultimate tropical look. Don’t let this look fool you – these high waisted wide legs can also be teamed with a pair of ankle boots and a fitted cropped knit to balance out their bagginess!
Remember to mix and match your pieces to re-create your wardrobe – It’s a necessity whilst travelling!
