Velvet… blush velvet… Need I say more?
It’s THE look of the season. Whether you love it already or you’re still warming up to the throw back idea of wearing velvet again (don’t deny it), this is the look of the season and you need to get on board!
I love my neutral tones and crisp monochrome palettes so experimenting with textures can really elevate an outfit. Playing with contrasting fabrics like cotton, linen and velvet all together creates depth into your wardrobe. It inspires an effortlessly chic look and executes minimalist style in a whole new way.
I’ve put together two very different looks to incorporate blush tones using velvet textures into your Autumn wardrobe.
The first look is casual and great for a girls day out shopping or brunch dates! Printed tee’s are everywhere and I love that this one is in a blush tone to compliment the velvet Charlotte boots. Styled with a structured linen wrap skirt (because yes, fashion CAN be comfortable!), the ankle boots really are the hero of this outfit and take it from casual to fashion forward!
The second look is office appropriate and suitable for after hours! A crisp white shirt is a staple in every wardrobe (or so it should be!) and the ways you can style it are endless! I love slip dresses but coming into cooler months some would think you can’t wear them as much – wrong! I love layering my slips over a basic tee or structured shirt to add another dimension to any look. The pieces contrast together with the shirt creating structure and the velvet dress that flows down the silhouette. If you haven’t heard already, statement boots are in and they’re big! Revolve is the ultimate sock boot with it’s glitter stitching and low block heel – perfect for everyday! Did I mention the best thing about this purist neutral palette? Bold kicks complete the look!
