Doesn’t every girl long for that throw on dress? A dress that can just simply be worn and yet still look like you’ve made the effort? That piece that doesn’t need to be styled because it’s style in itself – the ‘no-brainer’.

This phenomenal frock from Ecléct is all that you’d want from THAT dress. As we all know (or we should by now!) statement sleeves are everything right now… EVERYTHING. Flare, cuff, bell, split – you name it! If it’s got a sleeve that makes a statement, it’ll be in my wardrobe. These sleeves start with a tie at the forearm and create a long flare down the wrist to make that statement. Tied high at the neck and around the waist to create the perfect silhouette and take this dress from an Autumn frock to a dress with a difference.

The luxurious fabric and the to-die-for wine palette that creates this piece makes it a must have for seasons to come! This one might be unique but it’s got those classic touches that will make it a staple in your wardrobe for seasons to come!

Tassels Two Ways ~ Murphy Made Jewellery

Look One ~ I call it ‘Easy Like Sunday Morning’ because Mum jeans are my go to casual look when little to no effort is required. The pink and mustard earrings really make this outfit and add that exclamation point! A low-key jeans and shirt combo is turned into a showcase of textures with the tassels when styled with denim and silk. It adds a pop of colour and playfulness to the outfit. Whether you’re brunching, market shopping or just taking it easy – this really is the perfect weekender!

Look Two ~ This is a fun outfit that really doesn’t have any limits. Wear it to the office, out for drinks, dinner with the girls – you name it! The layered tee makes this outfit fun (and of course office appropriate!) but wear the cami by itself for a day-to-night look. I’ve put together this outfit using neutral, earthy tones so that the monochrome earrings really make a statement.

Marble is my obsession so these earrings take me to all new heights! I love that the tassels are made up of both black and white – so chic and the perfect addition to a corporate wardrobe.

Falling Into Autumn

Summer is over. Summer is over?! ALREADY??

It never gets easier coming to the realization that the best season has, yet again, come to an end (*cries inside*). There is one thing that always gets me through when Summer fades away.. Autumn fashion.

I’m a summer girl at heart but Autumn/Winter fashion is definitely my favourite! It’s a season you can really have fun with when it comes to styling. Layers, textures, fabrics – the opportunities are endless!

One of my go-to looks for the in-between weather is teaming a mini skirt with a long sleeve top. As well as creating different lengths to your outfit, it’s a great way to style a new Autumn piece like a statement blouse while still showing off the pins! You can finish off the look with the ultimate tran-seasonal shoe – the mule, or add an ankle boot to really get that Winter vibe going.

Experiment with textures – it’s the best part about Fall fashion! Knits, wools, silks and leathers, the list goes on. Try to team contrasting fabrics together to really elevate your look and create something new.

Happy new season shopping ladies 😉

If it’s got a statement sleeve, give it to me!

It’s the trend that’s having a moment right now and it’s everywhere. I’m trying hard to control my statement sleeve addiction but I’m losing!

This shirt by C/MEO COLLECTIVE is a minimalist’s dream. Statement sleeves, polka dot print, deep-V and a key hole draw string back closure – because everything about this top has attention to detail.

A leather mini is always my go-to bottom, even in Summer when you can switch it up for a grey or white leather. Working with a lighter palette in a heavier fabric has the ability to be styled multiple ways throughout every season.

to-a-(simplici)tee

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetIn the fashion world we’re often surrounded by loud prints, creative designs and bold colours but simple cuts and unique structures will never go a stray.

Nailing a minimalist look isn’t always as easy as it looks. Too simple and it risks looking plain and too much accessorising can take the “minimalist” out of it.

To nail the look you need to focus on the fabric, the fit and the feature!

Fabric – Aim invest in quality fabrics for long lasting wear and a seamless look.

Fit – Pay attention to how the garment fits. An ill fitting garment can ruin the whole look.

Feature – Look for a point of difference, something that makes your garment stand out from the rest. A flare sleeve, a low back or a unique colour, for instance!

Don’t forget, sometimes, less is more!

Shooting with Australian Style Institute

batch_IMG_0737batch_IMG_0796batch_IMG_0879batch_IMG_0952batch_IMG_0895batch_IMG_1042Shooting with Australian Style Institute and their incredible team of models, hair and make up artists, fashion labels and oh so talented photographer, Jason Lau, was such a great experience.

Working with other aspiring stylists and entrepreneurs of the fashion industry made it a shoot like no other. The creative eye of Jason Lau helped us see things we didn’t picture before and allowed us to push all creative boundaries.

We took to the quirky streets of Fitzroy in Melbourne to shoot gorgeous pieces by incredible labels, Megan Park, Once Was and Gorman and had the pleasure of shooting with Brazen models.

Take a look at the some behind the scenes snaps from ASI and be on the lookout for the final shots still to come!
